Four individuals, together with two authorities workers, have been arrested for allegedly attempting to hunt wild animals and a gun, sharp-edged weapons and bullets have been recovered from them in Chhattisgarh’s Balodabazar-Bhatapara district, police mentioned on Sunday.
Acting on a tip-off, a police staff intercepted them in Piparchhedi protected forest space beneath Kasdol police station limits on Friday once they have been shifting about in a automotive, Balodabazar-Bhatapara Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Deepak Kumar Jha mentioned.
“Those held have been recognized as Shaeed Naqvi, who’s posted as supervisor within the mining division, Mohammad Wasim Khan (33) who’s a forest guard, PWD civil contractor Anand Shrivastava (51) and Nawaz Khan (51). All hail from Raipur district,” he mentioned.
“When the automobile was searched, a telescope-mounted .22 rifle, 24 dwell rounds, 5 sharp-edged weapons and an axe have been recovered. Naqvi possessed the license of the gun however he didn’t have authority to hold it in a reserve forest space,” the SSP added.
Prima facie, it appears they have been attempting to hunt wild animals and a case beneath Arms Act and Wildlife Protection Act has been registered in opposition to them, Mr Jha mentioned.
