Animal Control officers being recognized this week



GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) -Animal management officers are being recognized for his or her service to their communities this week.

The second week of April yearly is recognized as National Animal Care and Control Officers Week.

Officers are recognized for the number of providers they supply for animals and communities together with selecting up strays, accepting surrenders from individuals who can not care for his or her pets, and naturally housing and adopting animals.

Many officers and shelters additionally present healthcare to sick and injured animals as nicely.

Pitt County Animal Services Director Chad Singleton says it’s good to be recognized for a job that may typically be harmful. “There’s a tremendous amount of risk that the officers take in each and every day that they are out patrolling the communities picking up often times vicious dogs or vicious animals.”
