White. In 2005, when the penguins and sea otters had been being evacuated as a result of Hurricane Katrina, the Hollywood star of Golden Girls and The Mary Tyler Moore Show, anonymously donated $70,000 to the aquarium to move the animals to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. The animal lover was a loyal supporter of the Aquarium from its beginnings, contributing to the Pebble Beach-area group’s many packages to encourage ocean conservation.

[Monterey Aquarium] for Hurricane Katrina, Betty White paid for the plane to relocate them. She did not ask for fanfare; she just wanted to help.” In true Golden Girls type, they added with a coronary heart, “Thank you for being a friend.”
