Animals which were severely injured are sometimes put to sleep. But Hasan Kızıl sees this as merciless. He believes there may be one other manner. In the majority-Kurdish metropolis of Mardin, in japanese Turkey, he builds customized animal prosthetics and walkers for cats and canines, freed from cost. His compatriots name him “Hayat Tamircisi,” which interprets as “one who can restore a life.” A report by Gunnar Köhne.
