TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — From livestock to drones, drones to race vehicles, native highschool college students showcased their expertise and information on a wide range of subjects Friday.
It was all a part of Ivy Tech’s 2022 Cob and Cog occasion. The occasion focuses on engineering and agriculture based mostly competitions.
Over 600 space college students took half within the competitors. Winners have been acknowledged with medallions and banners, whereas the grand prize was the Cob and Cog trophy.
Organizers say there’s numerous causes to carry the occasion.
“Number one, exposure to Ivy Tech, to help the recruitment process for students who want to get into high wage, high demand jobs,” mentioned Dean of School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering and Applied Science at Ivy Tech Terre Haute David Will. “But while they’re here we need to entice them, right? so the way we entice them is having fun, energetic events that students can participate in.”
Ivy Tech says it’s grateful to all occasion sponsors together with Duke Energy who have been the principle sponsor of the competitors.
