Kyiv’s Pechersky District Court has chosen measures of restraint for a U.S. citizen and a Ukrainian who, in keeping with the investigation, had been the perpetrators behind an assassination attempt on Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Roman Leshchenko, the spokesperson for the pinnacle of the National Police of Ukraine, Mariana Reva, has instructed Ukrinform.
“The court docket has chosen measures of restraint for two suspects – pre-trial detention for 60 days. [The measures of restraint have been chosen] for a U.S. citizen and a [Ukrainian] lady,” she stated.
As was reported earlier, Ukrainian Interior Minister Denys Monastyrsky stated on November 18 that legislation enforcement officers had thwarted an assassination attempt on Leshchenko.
According to investigators, Leshchenko’s homicide was ordered by a Ukrainian and a U.S. citizen.
According to media stories, the American’s identify is Kurt Jacob Groszhans, and the Ukrainian’s identify is Olena Bohach.
Leshchenko was appointed Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine in December 2020. Prior to that, he served as head of the State Service for Geodesy, Cartography and Cadastre (since June 2020) and because the president’s commissioner for land affairs (since October 2019).
