MINDEN — A former Minden Public Schools Board of Education member has filed a lawsuit towards all current Minden college board members and the college’s superintendent.
According to courtroom information, Katie Sinsel of Minden filed a lawsuit in November in Kearney County District Court towards Superintendent James Widdifield, Board President Rusty Rhynalds and Vice President Justin Glanzer in addition to board members Andy Craig, Cody Krull, Kevin Raun and Darcie Reed.
Sinsel claims that she was unlawfully prevented from collaborating in class board conferences after which eliminated as a member of the college board.
Sinsel was initially charged in Kearney County Court with trespassing and disturbing the peace, each misdemeanors, after an incident April 12 when she refused to put on a masks at a Minden college board assembly. Sinsel was arrested by Minden police after turning into disorderly and disruptive, based on a decision to take away a board member handed by the Minden Board of Education.
The college board beforehand had accredited a reaffirmation of the Back to School decision, which required all college board members to put on a masks from the time they enter any college constructing, throughout college board conferences and till they exit any and all college buildings.
