The Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, has pledged that the federal government will diversify the agricultural financial system by means of vegetable manufacturing.
He stated the ministry has rolled out programmes to strengthen extension companies, set up market linkages, improve analysis, and develop and re-orient farmers to be agri-business inclined.
He made this assertion when he introduced a cargo van to the Peace and Love Vegetable Growers Association within the Asokwa Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The presentation of the Cargo Van is to assist agricultural operation and vegetable manufacturing within the space.
He assured the farmers of the ministry’s assist to the vegetable farmers to enhance their output.
On his half, The Chairman of Peace and Love Vegetable Growers Association, John Yeboah, recommended the ministry for its assist and in addition pledged that the farmers would proceed to produce extra greens to assist the nation’s meals basket.
