This will likely be Reynolds’ first journey to the southern border as Governor of Iowa.
DES MOINES, Iowa — After sending a bunch of Iowa troopers over the summer time, Gov. Kim Reynolds is making a visit to the U.S.-Mexico border this week.
According to a launch, Reynolds will be part of 9 different Republican governors for a go to to the border in Texas “to witness firsthand the disaster enjoying out.”
Reynolds was a part of a bunch of 25 governors who despatched a letter to President Joe Biden, asking for a gathering to discover options to the border disaster. The president has not met with the governors.
More than two dozen state troopers traveled to Del Rio, Texas in July to help Texas regulation enforcement in addressing trafficking, unlawful immigrant crossings, and extra. They had been in Texas for 16 days.
Reynolds, together with a number of different governors, responded to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s name for extra assist alongside the Texas-Mexico border.
