The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) introduced 72 candidates from throughout the state who’ve been awarded Career and Technical Education State start-up grants from the Division of Career and Technical Education on Monday, together with Greenbrier.
The Greenbrier School District obtained $62,012.75 from the grant to go towards the highschool’s pre-engineering program.
“Each year the Division of Career and Technical Education receives state funds to assist schools with purchasing the appropriate industry standard equipment needed to start a CTE program of study,” Ross White, the director of ADE’s Division of Career and Technical Education, stated. “CTE programs provide students invaluable hands-on experiences to prepare students for their future careers.”
The grant, which covers 85 p.c of the estimated price of a brand new program, helps present the monetary enhance particular person faculties want to start out new packages that intention to satisfy enterprise and trade wants for the long run. Because the grant solely covers 85 p.c of the full price of Greenbrier’s pre-engineering program, the district pays the remaining 15 p.c.
