Hundreds of animals have been sacrificed at Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district on the event of Chhatar Yatra of Goddess Manikeshwari, leaving the primary street in the city blood-soaked.
As there have been no Covid-related restrictions, the competition was noticed with public participation after a niche of two years. Thousands of devotees thronged the place to supply prayer to the presiding deity of the area.
As many as 20 platoons of police forces have been deployed throughout the city to take care of legislation and order.
As per the rituals, the Bijay Pratima Chhatar of the Goddess was taken out from the temple contained in the palace to Jenakhala, on the outskirts of Bhawanipatna city.
