Local shelters seeking donations to help animals

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) – Fort Wayne’s animal shelters are asking the group to think about donating to them this GivingTuesday to help them proceed to give important care to shelter pets.

Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control (FWACC) and Humane Fort Wayne are each seeking donations from the general public as a part of GivingTuesday on Nov. 30. GivingTuesday began in 2012 to encourage residents to give again to nonprofits of their communities.

FWACC mentioned in 2021, over 7,600 animals have been introduced in needing medical care or to be positioned right into a foster house. They say they’re in a position to help save these animals’ lives thanks to beneficiant donations from the group to their Angel Fund.

“Nearly $200,000 has already been spent to help cover life-saving procedures and equipment in 2021. As an open-access shelter, FWACC does not turn away any animal in Allen County for any reason. Often, animals come to us in great need of medical care and the Angel Fund is our only option to help save their lives,” FWACC Community Relations & Education Specialist Holly Pasquinelli mentioned.

Humane Fort Wayne officers say they hope to see file giving this GivingTuesday, and all presents can be matched up to $15,000. They say now greater than ever, they’re needing donations to help native pets and house owners via their complete adoption, pet retention, low-cost spay/neuter, and wellness clinic applications.

“GivingTuesday is the single largest donation day of the year for us, and because we receive no tax dollars, it’s crucial to our lifesaving mission,” Executive Director of Humane Fort Wayne Jessica Henry mentioned.

Donations to FWACC will be made on-line at, in-person, over the telephone at 260-427-1244 possibility 1, or mailed to Fort Wayne Animal Care & Control at 3020 Hillegas Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804. Donations to Humane FW can be given on-line, at or by calling the shelter at 260-744-0454. Learn extra about GivingTuesday right here.
