More than 200 wild animals, together with tigers, leopards and deer, have been spotted during a waterhole survey carried out at Pench Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra, an official stated on Thursday.
The waterhole survey was held on May 16 as a part of Nisrganubhav-2022 organised by the forest division at the reserve, the official stated.
At least 222 wild animals have been spotted during the survey, which was carried out in 5 ranges of the reserve and 71 machans have been made obtainable for the train carried out by the sphere employees, stated Pradhu Nath Shukla, the deputy director of Pench Tiger Reserve in Nagpur. The public survey was deliberate within the buffers ranges of Paoni (unified management) and Nagalwadi and 34 machans have been provided for the programme, he stated.
A tigress with 4 cubs and a leopard have been sighted in Nagalwadi vary, the official stated. Sambar and spotted deer, wild boars, sloth bears, chitals, nilgais, gaurs, porcupine and so forth have been among the different wild animals spotted during the survey, he added.
