Mozambique militant attacks: ‘So much destruction’

Islamist militants have terrorised the north of Mozambique for over 4 years. Known as Al Shabab, they’ve hyperlinks to the Islamic State group.

They function within the Cabo Delgado province, which was residence to Africa’s largest pure fuel mission, run by French firm Total.

It’s near the city of Palma, the place in March, dozens of individuals died after an assault – inflicting Total to withdraw its staff.

Two and a half thousand folks have died and 700,000 have been displaced since preventing started.

Rwanda has despatched in its forces to assist, and the BBC’s Deputy Africa Editor Anne Soy has been travelling in Mozambique with their troops.
