New Delhi [India], December 8 (ANI): Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, answering a query on the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on the agricultural households in Lok Sabha, mentioned that the agriculture sector functioned “easily” including that the federal government took all needed measures to make sure clean operation of agriculture-related actions.
Congress’ Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday had requested an unstarred query stating whether or not the federal government has assessed the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on the agricultural households.
Replying to the query, the Minister mentioned, “During the lockdown, the agriculture sector functioned easily. The Government of India had taken all needed measures to make sure the graceful operation of agriculture-related actions. Farming and allied actions have been exempted from the lockdown.”
“Seed, fertilizer, pesticide and so on. sellers, outlets and different enter associated actions have been allowed to open for making inputs obtainable to the farmers. Inter and intrastate motion of farm equipment specifically mix harvesters was facilitated,” he added.
The Winter session of the Parliament commenced on November 29 and can proceed until December 23. (ANI)
