COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – No bowls had been left empty Saturday as a whole bunch of individuals collected animal food and provides at Paws Humane Society animal shelter food pantry.

CEO of Paws Humane Society Tricia Montgomery says they obtained 40,000 kilos of animal food to offer out to individuals within the community.

The animal pantry had differing types of animal meals from cats all the way in which to horses. They additionally gave away animal provides reminiscent of canine crates, toys, and gates.

Montgomery says they usually serve greater than 300 households within the community. She says a giant cause the food pantry exists is as a result of individuals generally abandon or give up their animals as a result of they will’t afford to feed them.

“Whether that’s providing food, or litter, or crates, or anything that helps them lessen the cost and lessen their own ability to put out their own money, we want to be able to do that,” Montgomery defined. “Our goal is to keep pets in the home. Our goal is not to have animals come in and out of the shelter.”

With the vacations simply across the nook, Montgomery says many households could also be struggling to feed their very own households. She explains they wish to assist by giving households weeks, if not months value, of animal food.
