“I was very impressed with how they settled in,” Hammond mentioned. “I called timeout (in the seventh inning) to bring them back in and tell them that the runner at the play is who we really care about. If we give up a couple of runs here, we are fine. I just want to make sure that we are focusing on (first base).”

Bay’s Grace Pierce threw 4 strikeouts, walked six batters for 3 earned runs.

Bay’s Katherine Shuster was 4-for-4 on the plate for 2 RBI. She additionally hit a double within the sixth inning, however there have been no runners on base.

Rocky River and Bay will each journey to play GLC West opponents. The Rockets will tackle Normandy and the Pirates will go on the highway to play Holy Name.
