With personal assist, building has begun on a $5 million renovation of Louise Pound Hall to create a new global education center on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
The global education center will function the bodily hub of the college’s worldwide exercise, bringing collectively the 4 Global Affairs models (International Students and Scholars Office, Education Abroad, Programs in English as a Second Language, and Office of Global Strategies) to streamline worldwide scholar assist companies and higher coordinate campus-wide global engagement.

Announced in February 2021, Forward Together is Nebraska’s first institutional technique to assist global engagement and education alternatives on the college. It is carefully tied to the N2025 Strategic Plan, which prioritizes experiential education, innovation and global partnerships. By making a hub for global initiatives, the 20,000 sq. foot house inside historic Louise Pound Hall aligns the college’s technique, individuals and assets to create dynamic synergies for experiential studying and tackling global challenges.

Renovations can even embody a state-of-the-art “virtual classroom” facility out there to school and educational models throughout campus to co-create mutually helpful digital exchanges with companions across the world.

Initial building for the center renovations has already begun. Completion of the undertaking is scheduled for fall 2022.
