COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) is looking for neighborhood partners to help within the implementation of the Summer Food Service Program to provide meals to youngsters through the summer months.
The program is funded by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the SCDE’s Office of Health and Nutrition. From January 1, 2021 by means of August, the program’s Summer Break Cafe served roughly 20.5 million meals.
Partners could be sponsors offering meals or websites for distribution inside native communities. Approved sponsors can obtain reimbursements for serving meals that meet the USDA pointers to any pupil 18 years outdated and youthful at accredited websites.
