Schools in Uganda Reopen After Being Closed for Nearly 2 Years

Students returned to the classroom after Uganda ended the world’s longest faculty closure. More than half of the nation’s college students successfully stopped studying when colleges closed in March 2020.

“Imagine for two years having them. In the first months, we were trying to struggle with teaching them. Of course, it’s difficult for a parent to be tutoring their own child. Even when we tried to do private tutoring for these kids, we didn’t know for which classes are we tutoring them for. So, it’s been very complicated. It’s been very hard.” (*2*)
