DIXON – Sauk Valley Community College obtained a $25,000 grant from the Agriculture and Rural Initiative, which is Compeer Financial’s donor fund.
Sauk Valley Community College is considered one of six neighborhood faculties in Illinois that may be a grant recipient. The fund is gifting $825,000 to neighborhood and technical faculties throughout the cooperative’s 144-county territory in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Compeer Financial introduced final 12 months that it had dedicated $1.9 million in scholarships and grants over the following 5 years with the objective of growing the agricultural workforce.
Sauk Valley Community College plans on utilizing the grant cash to purchase a 2019 John Deere tractor from Prairie State Tractor in Dixon.
