The Nature Conservancy taking part in UP200

MARQUETTE, Mich. (WLUC) – The Nature Conservancy is taking part in this 12 months’s UP200 with a historic spin.

The race will probably be going by means of the Conservancy’s Laughing Whitefish Lake Preserve this week which is identical place that photographer George Shiras III took the first-ever night time pictures of wildlife. So, whilst you see others taking pictures of the sled canines, keep in mind the primary flash photographer at night time passed off in the U.P.

“He would actually sit in his canoe on the lake with his camera on the boat and wait for an animal and would take a picture in that direction and see what he got,” defined Chris Cantway, Nature Conservatory Restoration Associate.

During the race, the Conservancy can have a tent on the nook of Washington and Front Street the place there will probably be heat drinks cowbells, and hats.
