Coleman, a Kentucky native and descendent of enslaved folks, runs Coleman Crest Farm close to UK. To honor his late spouse, Cathy, and the legacy of his household’s farm, Coleman’s present will create the Cathy and James Coleman Scholarship Fund in UK’s College of Agriculture, Food, and Environment (CAFE).
The fund will profit college students who’re members of the Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences Program (MANRRS).
