Interested in studying extra about sheep and goat manufacturing? If so, Overton Extension together with the Upper Cumberland Extension staff is conducting the annual Upper Cumberland Small Ruminant Conference Friday, Sept. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 1.
This 12 months’s convention will be held in two places. The first day’s class September thirtieth will be held on the Smith County Ag Center in Carthage. Topics that day will include genetics, choice, small ruminant well being, hands-on demonstrations, and a producer panel dialogue. The October 1st section will be held together with the Upper Cumberland Extension Team Grazing Summit. This program will be held at Wilson Farms in Cookeville. The featured speaker will be Greg Judy, forage and grazing knowledgeable. Topics will be grazing for animal efficiency, fencing strategies for grazing, advantages of multi-species grazing and economical watering.
Class price is $100 to obtain a Master Certificate for TAEP, or $25 to attend with no certificates. Lunch supplied each days.

Overton County Fall 2022 Master Beef
Overton Extension is conducting a Fall Master Beef Producer Class Thursday, Sept. 15, Thursday, Sept. 22 and Saturday, Oct. 1. All courses will be reside and on website at three completely different places. A Master Beef Certificate permits one for optimum price share on TAEP applications. Class dates and places are:
•September fifteenth, Anderson Farms, Alpine
•September twenty second, Holt Farms, Livingston
•October 1st, Upper Cumberland Grazing Summit, Cookeville
