Verona Island receiving money from U.S. Dept. of Agriculture to upgrade wastewater collection system



VERONA ISLAND, Maine (WABI) – Verona Island is receiving simply over one million {dollars} from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to upgrade its wastewater collection system.

The city’s system was in-built 1985 and consists of about 5,100 ft of sewer pipe and two pump stations.

The grant is an element of a $272-million challenge to enhance rural water infrastructure for greater than 1 / 4 of one million individuals residing in rural communities throughout the nation.
