Virginia veterinarian heads to Ukraine to help animals in refugee camps



ANNANDALE, Va. (WWBT) – A Virginia veterinarian is taking her experience the world over to Ukraine the place she plans on serving to the animals caught in the war-torn nation.

NBC4 says Dr. Courtney Katsur, with the Columbia Pike Animal Hospital in Annandale, has packed her baggage filled with medical provides to help sick, wounded and malnourished animals that had been separated from their homeowners or pressured to be left behind for the reason that starting of the struggle.

According to NBC4, when Katsur noticed photos of what animals throughout the nation had been going by she had an urge to help.

“The whole atrocity of the war has been difficult to watch. It’s difficult to watch knowing I can’t do anything,” she mentioned to NBC4 reporter Solangi Sosa.

Then Katsur realized that she as a veterinarian may do one thing to help.

“Watching all of these people flee with their pets, how important their pets were to them, and then those people that left and felt so awful that they left their pets,” she advised NBC4. “And I realized that I do have a place to help.”

She plans on touring to the Ukraine and Romania border for 2 weeks the place she’s going to lend her abilities to Breaking the Chains and Warpaws. The joinr organizations have been volunteering for the reason that begin of the battle and have gone proper into areas destroyed by the struggle to rescue animals.

Katsur’s largest fear for now could be that she is probably not in a position to save as many as she would love as soon as she will get there.

The veterinarian is amassing donations to go in the direction of wanted provides, journey prices and medicines that she’s going to deliver along with her in accordance to NBC4. She may also help coordinate adoptions and reunite pets with their homeowners.
