Canada-based Bangladeshi artist Sarker Helal Uddin has portrayed various flowers, scenic magnificence, city life, nature and others in an exhibition titled Watercolour beneath approach at the Galleri Kaya in Uttara within the capital.
The exhibition is the fifth solo watercolour exhibition of Sarker Helal Uddin.
Senior artist professor Abdus Shakoor Shah inaugurated the exhibition on July 22. Popular singer Kanak Aditya entertained the viewers rendering songs at the inaugural ceremony.
Galleri Kaya director and artist Goutam Chakraborty was additionally current at the programme.
The exhibition is that includes 55 watercolour work of Sarker Helal Uddin. Most of the displayed artworks had been created between 2021 and 2022.
‘I have been doing watercolour and oil painting since 1982. I love to paint various subjects such as landscapes, flowers, portraits, figures and others. Besides, I also like plein air painting and live model portrait painting as well. I mostly work in watercolour, oil painting and various mediums,’ reads the artist’s observe.
Sarker Helal Uddin has painted totally different flowers, particularly cherry flower, magnolia, Chinese quince, daylilies, calla lily, million bells, petunia, peony, rose, dahlia and others.
Among the watercolour work, Cherry Blossoms-2, created in 2021, exhibits a number of cherry flowers, which have gradations between white and purple colors.
Paintings titled Flower Petunia-1 and Flower Petunia-2, created in 2021, depict yellow and white petunias and purple and white petunias respectively.
Cityscape-1 depicts Toronto metropolis in Canada. It exhibits individuals strolling on the footpath and a few automobiles working on the highway.
Seagull-1 exhibits a flock of seagulls on a sea shore. Sarker Helal Uddin created the portray in 2021.
The portray titled Snow in Canada-8, created in 2022, exhibits an individual shovelling snow.
Born in 1965, Sarker Helal Uddin was a pupil at tremendous arts school of Dhaka University. After acquiring a scholarship awarded by the Chinese authorities, he left for China the place he accomplished his bachelor’s and Master’s in tremendous arts from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, China.
